The Christmas Spirit

Now that Thanksgiving is over it's time to rev up our Christmas spirit. Like most other people, I absolutely love Christmas. This year was a little different when it came to decorating. We usually make it home Friday afternoon after picking up the Christmas tree and get all the other decorating done at the same time. Well, this year we got back a little later on Friday and we were exhausted from the Thanksgiving week, not to mention I had to work the next day. What a blessing to have such a wonderful husband who helped out by putting up half of the inside decorations and putting lights outside over the weekend while I was at work. Kylee and I did a little decorating of our own this morning. Here's where we stand.

A Day at the Tree Farm

Well, tradition carries on. We woke up early, yet again, Friday morning to get our Christmas tree with Dad, Wade, Joey and some of the kids. It's definately worth the drive, although Joey would disagree!! We reluctantly left Kylee behind with Mom and Robin since it was cold and windy that day. Maybe we can start the tradition with her next year.

Okay, so it's out of order but this is what I found when we got back to Mom's hosue. Kylee was watching Mom and Maddison cook beans.

This is the one. Kyle's tearing the tag to claim our tree.

Yes, Carson is wearing a Saints sweater that is 10 times too big. He was so cute!

Happy Thanksgiving

Wow what a week last week! Wednesday we headed into town to take pictures at Missy's studio:) That night we visited at Mom and Dad's and celebrated Cortlan and Sheldon's birthdays. Then it was time to wake up bright and early for Thanksgiving Day. Unfortunately, Kyle and I did not get to make it to my family's Thanksgiving at MaMa's, but we were blessed to be with his family at his Uncle Mic's. We had a great time and it was so good to see everyone again. Kylee had a jam packed first Thanksgiving and I can only imagine what Christmas will be like!

Joey...always a lady's man!!!

Kylee had a blast watching Maddison and Luke run everywhere!

New Adventures

Kylee and I joined a Mom's group and last Thursday we went to our "meet and greet" to meet some of the moms. One of the local outdoor furniture store in town had a festival of trees event where there were Christmas activites including pictures with Santa. Of course, Kylee was too young for everything but we did get her first picture with Santa! I was really amazed at how well she did. I expected her to be scared and cry but she didn't. At the event there were many things being auctioned off including predecorated Christmas trees. I found a few interesting ones. Take a look!

This is a huge canvas with a tree painted on it and actual Saints emblems hanging from it! How neat! They also had LSU trees and painted trees.

One Step Closer

Kylee seems to be able to do more and more every day. Kyle and I were wondernig if she was supposed to be sitting up by now because she wasn't. Well yesterday I was putting up clothes in her room and she refused to stay laying down in her bed so here she is....sitting up! Of course, she had to lean forward and hold herself, but she is a lot closer to fully supporting herself than she was a couple weeks ago. She stayed that way for a good couple minutes before she would fall. She mainly fell when she was reaching for her mirror toy. We're so blessed to have such a good baby! We love you Kylee!!!

Moovin' and Groovin'

Well, I was hoping that Kylee would hold off on crawling until our Christmas tree comes down this year but it doesn't look like that's going to happen. She now rolls all over the living room and, as you can see in this picture, brings her play mats along with her! She is also starting to get on her hands and knees but all she does so far is flop back down on the floor. We already can't keep up with her, I'm sacared to see what's ahead!!!

Kylee under the couch. I knew she was stuck somewhere when I heard her screaming from the other room!

Family Dinner Night

Last night we decided to have dinner out since Kyle didn't get in until a little later than usual. It was so nice, the first time we've eaten out in while! What a joy it is to be able to spend time together as a family. Oh, and I included a picture of Buddy that I took today. I thought it was pretty funny!

It was the best we could do. We actually had Buddy sitting on the counter top to keep Kylee's attention!! Kyle was a little too tall. Oh well!!

I guess he was cold? This was the only spot in the house with sunlight this morning.

Sleeping Beauty

How is it that she can be so beautiful when she's sleeping? I don't know, but I do know that's the case. This morning Kylee and I went shopping and by the time we were finished she had a full belly and was exhausted! This is what I saw after I unloaded her from the truck, brought her to the nursery and pulled back her canopy- my sleeping beauty!

A Big Girl Moment

Kylee has accomplished yet another big girl achievement. She is officially holding her own bottle now and man, is it nice! Today was the first time I just laid her on the floor and not in her chair and she tends to roll over and lose her bottle, but it won't be long before she really has it down. Yet another reminder of how fast they grow!

Who Dat?!

Yesterday we enjoyed our day with PawPaw and Monday Night Football. Dad made his way to our house to start heading to New Orleans for the Saints game. Of course, on the way we couldn't pass up Landry's without stopping and enjoying some good seafood! From there we headed to Shane and Courtney's to drop Kylee off before we headed to the game. We visited with Shane, Courtney, and Ava for a little while before leaving and Ava was having a ball with Kylee. Thanks Shane and Courtney for watching Kylee so we could enjoy a Saints game; and sorry to everyone else that I took the best game of the season!!

Trick or Treat!

Kyle,Mrs. Sandra and Kylee enjoyed handing out candy to the trick or treaters in our subdivision for Halloween. I was working and managed to make it back for the last 2 or 3 groups to stop by. Kylee was incredibly cute in her Tinker Bell costume and, from what I hear, made quite an impression on the surrouding neighbors.

Enjoying attention from her Daddy

This is what I got to come home to after work-aren't I lucky?!

Kylee and one of Kyle's old stuffed animals that him mom brought- I think his name is Fifel or something like that!

Family Time and Crawfish Etouffe

Holly and Jason came to Mom and Dad's Friday night so we decided to head on over to visit with them, Kirk and Angie, and Missy and Carl- and all the kids too of course! It was great seeing Holly, Jason and the boys again and enjoying some of Mom's ever delicious crawfish etouffe. Thanks for having us Mom and Dad!

Everyone gathered after supper
