This weekend we had our cousins from Arkansas join us for some Mardi Gras fun. Saturday didn't turn out as planned, but we really enjoyed our time with them. Sunday we attended the Scott parade and caught TONS of beads while we got to hang out with family and enjoy the beautiful day.

Hey everyone, I know it's been FOREVER since I've posted so I wanted to let everyone know that I'm going to get back into posting soon. Before, I was working 30 minutes from home and didn't take the time to post at night....now I have a job in my house so it should be much easier! :) I'm working on starting another blogsite to support prolife. I'll let everyone know when it is finished and I'll be posting it on Facebook too. I'm using Noah as an example of what people are killing when they have abortions. Well, until then I hope everyone is doing well and can't wait to see you all again!!

This weekend we had Maddison and Luke come to the house to spend some cousin time with Kylee. I was prepared for disaster with 3 toddlers and ended up having such a great time! Kylee didn't know what to do with herself with 2 others to play with. When they went home she acted a llittle lost :) We had a blast with a trip to the pumpkin patch and plenty of outside playtime. Sunday we had Robin, Wade and the boys come join us for lunch and a Saints game. The game was the worst part of the weekend :(

This year we spent our vacation in Arkansas with Kyle's cousins Nicole, Matt and their son Jon. It was a relaxing weekend at Lake Greeson. Kylee experienced her first boat ride and had a blast playing with her cousin Jon. Sunday we made our way to Hot Springs to attend Mass and tour the historic district. Kylee did awesome holding hands and walking the whole time. She also ate her first ice cream cone that day. It was a great trip full of firsts! Thanks Matt and Nicole for the accomodations! We are now spending the day recovering from vacation...I'm sure you all know how that goes!

Sunday we stayed in town one more day to help celebrate Maddison's 4th birthday...man how time flies! Of course, no party at MawMaw's is complete without some swimming! Kylee enjoyed joining Maddison and Ava in the big pool. She even got a few gifts of her own from those that won't be making it to her birthday party. Thank you Joey and Lori and Parren and Aunt Courtney for the great gifts! They are greatly appreciated. And, of course, happy birthday Maddison! You are growing to be such a beatutiful little girl!

Saturday we were honored to be part of Falen and Scott's big day. Kylee was the flower girl..if that's what you would like to call it! Friday afternoon we loaded up the whole bunch for a trip back to the Bluff for Falen and Scott's wedding rehersal. Kylee was chosen to be flower girl and I was interested to see how she would handle the walk. Well, needless to say, practice does not make perfect! Kylee klung to me like a leach and only let loose one time during rehersal to walk with Brooke and Conner, the ring bearer. She did, however, have a blast playing with Falen's bow bouquet.

This weekend was another much needed relaxing weekend. Carly and Chloe spent the day with us Saturday. After garage saleing and the girls helping me pick out a new pair of heels we headed back home for some backyard fun! The girls spent all day in the pool with a little break for smores in between. Kylee had a blast with her cousins and we are so glad they broke her in to the water so now she will swim for her party!

Sunday Park Play

Last weekend was our first weekend home with no actvities to attend in a very long time. We spend Saturday cleaning house and made a trip to the park on Sunday. It was our first park trip with just us three and Kylee thoroughly enjoyed all the attention. It was also the first time she played on a big play gym. It took some getting used to but she finally let loose. We left with a swollen lip and one happy child!

Chloe's First Communion

Sunday we joined the Deshotel family in celebrating Chloe's First Communion in Church Point. Chloe was beautiful in her white dress and was so excited to recieve communion for the first time. After mass we enjoyed a delicious lunch at Prejean's. Aside from Kylee being hysterically afraid of the stuffed alligator, it was an enjoyable day!

Easter Sunday 2011

This year we were able to spend Easter Sunday in the comfort of our own home and boy was I glad! It has been such a relaxing day and wer are enjoying our family time together. This morning Kylee was suprised to see that the Easter Bunny had passed and had a blast checking out all her new goodies. After church it was nap time for Kylee and movie time for Mommy and Daddy. Okay, so maybe there was a little nap time for Mommy too :) This afternoon Kylee has been enjoying her new bubbles and sidewalk chalk outside in the beautiful weather. We couldn't ask for a better day!

Yesterday was the annual Easter crawfish boil at MawMaw and PawPaw's house. Kylee knocked out her 3rd egg hunt like a pro and had a blast playing with all of her cousins. The crawfish was delicious and it was so great visiting with everyone..especially those we don't see very often. Thank you Mom and Dad for everything!

This year we started our Easter celebration with our traditional fish fry at Kyle's Uncle Mic's house. Kylee got her 2nd Easter egg hunt in and already looked more experienced after her school egg hunt. This is Kylee's first year to help dye Easter eggs and I think she took to it pretty well! She was a little hesitant to help with the 2nd egg after getting dye on her hands with the first attempt. She eventually warmed up again when Mommy and Daddy said it was time for bed and she decided she'd rather dye eggs! It is such fun to be able to teach her new things and watch her develop. We love you Kylee!

Today was Kylee's Easter party at her school so we dressed her up pretty in pink and sent her on her way. This afternoon I joined her class along with the other parents for an easter egg hunt and Easter treats. Kylee had a great practice run of egg hunting for this weekend and it was great to hear the parents talk about how much their kids "love Kylee!" It seems Kylee is Miss Likeable!

Let The Good Times Roll!

This past weekend we had the pleasure of hosting Kyle's cousins Nicole, Matt and Jon from Arkansas. It was their first southern Mardi Gras experience and we had a blast introducing them to the traditions. Saturday we lined up for the trail ride in LeBleu Settlement. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera that day so I do not have any pictures to share. Kylee enjoyed seeing all of the "horsies" and dancing to all of the music. After a full day of float decorating, horse riding and dancing we drove back home to prepare for our next full day of fun. Sunday after church we continued our yearly tradition and attended the Scott Mardi Gras parade. After patiently waiting to find a spot in the crowd we unloaded and grilled lunch before it was time for the parade. All of the kids had a blast catching beads and all other kinds of goodies. It was a very busy, but exciting weekend. Happy Mardi Gras everyone!

Saturday we made a trip to New Orleans to help celebrate Cohen's baptism. After mass the family joined Father in welcoming Cohen to the church. It was a beautiful ceremony and we were so glad to be a part of it. After the baptism we went back to Shane and Courtney's to continue the celebration with some delicious gumbo and cake. Thank you Shane and Courtney for having us!

Last Saturday I joined Mom, MaMa, Aunt Alice, Aunt Debbie, Missy and Brooke for a sewing party at MaMa's. I never dreamed I would have so much fun! Not only did Kylee get a dress out of the deal but I got to spend some quality time with loving family. Last week I wanted so bad to put her dress on for church but had no ribbons to hold it together. This week I was sure that would be her church outfit and boy did she look cute! Thank you Mom for helping me sew such a cute dress!!

Country Winter Adventure

Thursday morning Angie and I braved the cold, icy weather and headed to Austin TX for the Rascal Flatts concert. Luckily, we hit clear roads there and back. Thursday night after the concert was a different story, however. We withstood the 27 degree, 9 degree windchill weather and icy roads to make it back to Holly's house safe and sound. The concert was a blast and I am so glad I got to experience it with two wonderful gals! Thank you both very much for the experience!! Friday morning we awoke to a snow covered yard and had fun with the boys making snow angels and a snowman. Okay, so Jason was really the one working on the snowman, but we all enjoyed it :) Jason fed us like queens, as usual, and after the snow and ice started to melt Angie and I loaded our bags and started on the journey home. I enjoyed a delicious steak dinner at Kirk and Angies(compliments of Kirk) and completed my journey home from Moss Bluff. Thanks again to Angie, Kirk, Holly and Jason for the hospitality, food and good times!!

Today I got the pleasure of having Carly and Chloe over first thing and the morning to entertain Kylee for the day. Today was designated to taking down Christmas decorations and getting this house clean. With gumbo boiling on the stove I decided it was time to make some cookies. Kylee, Carly and Chloe all did their part in making some of the most delicious cookies I've ever tasted! It was so fun having them and getting to do these things with them...I can't wait until Kylee is really old enough that I can enjoy things like this with her on her own. Carly even helped chop the sausage for the gumbo and Carly and Chloe both assisted witht he taking down of Christmas decorations. I love having these girls over, they are both such great helpers!

This Christmas was such a blast being able to see Kylee rip open wrapping paper and become so excited over all of her new presents. Thursday night we loaded up and headed to Church Point to watch the Our Mother of Peace annual school Christmas Play. Carly and Chloe participate every year and this year Chloe was a snowman singing "Let It Snow" and Carly was dressed in her cute Christmas outfit singing "Jingle Bells." They both did a great job and we were glad to keep tradition and make it again this year. Thank you Valarie for the delicious seafood gumbo afterwards!

Santa Encounter

Since we finally have a weekend to spend at home we decided to take a break from cleaning house and take Kylee to meet Santa live and in person. One of our local stores were having him come visit and allowing parents to take pictures. Call it Mother's intuition, but somehow I knew she wouldn't handle it well! The good news is that we got a coule of good pictures to laugh at with her when she grows older :)

Satufday we took off to meet our new Godchild and cousin, Cohen. He is such a precious boy! We hardly heard a peep from him the whole time we were there. Nanny came to visit last week to give Kylee her Halloween bag and talk pageant talk. Kylee was so happy to see her as were Kyle and I. Thanks for the visit Jamie! Saturday morning we headed to Lake Charles to the Brick House for Kylee's first pageant. She got 2nd Alternative and Miss Photogenic and she did so great on stage! She was so beautiful, as always and we had such a great time participating. Thank you Nanny for sponsoring Kylee's first pageant!!! Sunday we spent the day at Mom and Dad's for the Saints game, had Dad's famous BBQ and a great visit with family. What a wonderful weekend it was!

It was Kylee's first Trick or Treating Halloween and we made out with plenty of candy and junk food! Saturday night we joined in on the party at Amber, Max, and Parker's house for some playtime and awesome gumbo and treats! Thanks so much to Amber and her family for the invitation, we had a blast! Sunday after our trip the the ER and a good long nap Kylee was ready to go in her precious lady bug costume. We had some friends over to join in on the fun and the subdivision was packed with trick or treaters! We love living in this subdivision..it's so family oriented and a great place for times like these. Kylee was fine riding in the wagon for trick or treat as long as she had some type of sucker or candy in her mouth..LOL. After she pooped out on that fun we headed back to the house to visit with good friends and watch the Saints game. GO SAINTS!!! I wished we could have also spent this fun time with family but we had a blast with such great friends!

Our First Visit to the ER

Church was cut a little short today after Kylee decided to pitch a fit while Daddy was holding her hand and dislocate her elbow. My poor baby was screaming she was in so much pain and she refused to move her left arm. I knew we were looking at some type of injury if my baby girl was acting like that! After 3 stops to Walk in Clinics that were closed, and 1 stop to one that was open but refused to treat her because of her age we ended up in the ER. Thank goodness the wait to get in was not long at all and the doctor was able to fix it with the snap of a finger! After a couple minutes of crying Kylee realized she could actually move her arm without any pain and was back to normal. We are so relieved it was nothing more than this but had quite the emotional morning! Kylee was a trooper and now doesn't even realize anything ever happened :)

This past weekend Kyle and I had our plate full of celebration and memories...memories for him of course!! It started with the Iowa homecoming parade Friday afternoon, the football game Friday night, family day in the park Saturday and the Dance/Social Saturday night. It was great getting to know Kyle's old high school friends and seeing him let loose and have fun again!

We were playing outside when I noticed Kylee squatting but I couldn't tell if it was because she was just playing or using the bathroom. Then she stood up and pointed to her diaper which is when I jumped up, grabbed her and ran to the toilet with her. Three books later there was a distinct smell in the air :) and she had successfully used the potty! Wow, I was so amazed!!!! What an incredible little girl!!! I am so proud of you my Kylee!!!

And so it begins...the dreaded potty training! LOL. Kylee has discovered her diaper, has taken it off one morning in bed when I decided to let her sleep without pants, squats to have a BM and wants to play in her dirty diaper when I change it. All of this added up made me decide to start introducing the potty. It's a little scary for me to think she's ready for this already, but she has always been Miss Independent and a very fast learner. We went to the store and bought her potty today...it sings when the sensor gets wet. I'm sure she'll love it as she loves to dance to music. Hopefully this will be a big motivator. We'll keep you updated on her progress!

Back From Paradise!

Well, we didn't want to but we had to come back from paradise! :) We had a blast at the beach and had an amazing Labor Day weekend. It was so much fun to see Kylee discover the sand and the waves. It was a weekend full of relaxation, great food and sunny beach time. Our accomodations were minimal but all we needed was the beach!

Yesterday we joined the rest of the family in welcoming our cousins, Jackie Bobby and their 4 kids back to the United States. They have been doing the Lord's work in China for the past 3 years. They are back until January and then return to China for another 4 years. We were so glad to be able to see them and visit again!

Movin' On Up

This is Kylee's first week in the toddler class at daycare. She was a little unsure of going into a new rooom her first day, but adjusted well in the end. In this class she seems so much more grown up. They sleep on mats on the floor and she even had to bring a backsack! What does a 1 yr old need a backpack for??? Her teacher said she did great sleeping on the mat from the very first day which really suprised me. My baby girl is getting so big and I am so proud of her!

Yesterday Kylee went down for a nap only to wake up to 4 strange kids running around and playing with all her stuff....and she loved every minute of it!! Robin, Wade and the kids came for a visit yesterday and we all took a trip to the park. It was blistering hot out there but the kids had a blast and Chandler and Blayton got in some fishing time. After the park it was time to cool off in the water back at home and you know with Robin and Wade no night is complete without a game of Canasta! Sorry about the defeat you guys :) Thank you so much for the company, we really enjoyed it!!!

Kylee's Nanny Jamie gave her a Humpty pillow when she was born and it has been in her crib with her from the start. Just recently she has started snuggling and using it as her pillow. When I go back in to cover her at night this is what I find.

Saturday was a fun filled day of birthday parties and water slides. We went to Val and Shane's house to celebrate Chloe, Haley, Val and Shane's bdays. We had a blast, young and old, enjoying the super fun water slide they rented for the day. Along with all the fun came great food and even better cake! Thanks Aunt Val and Uncle Shane for having us over for such a great time!

This weekend wsa jammed packed full of fun and festivities! Saturday afternoon we went to a 4th of July party at Brook, Marcus and Emma's house for some swimming fun and a few fireworks. Kylee had a blast climbing in and out of the pool and playing with all of the fun toys outside. Then Sunday we headed to Val and Shane's house for more good food and fireworks. The fireworks didn't phase Kylee and she had such a great time playing with her cousins and all the other kids. Thank you everyone for having us over. We had a great time!

No party is complete without climbing in and out of the pool at least 50 times!

Weekend Fun and Father's Day

Well I'm finally finding the time to post from the past 2 weekends! Weekend before last Carly and Chloe came to visit and play with Kylee and last weekend for Father's day we had a nice relaxing Saturday and Sunday enjoyed some great food at Valarie's house. Saturday night Kyle got a gourmet home cooked meal. He also got his toaster oven he's been wanting and a corny, but cute Tshirt. It was great weekend of great appreciation for the man in Kylee and I's lives. We love you Kyle!

Kylee has been taking small, unstable steps here and there for a while now, but in the last couple days she has really started to get the hang of it. Last night she walked about 3 feet,(5-6 steps). I didn't expect it so I didn't have my camera. Today I managed to get a clip of a little taste of how she's doing. She has also started climbing on things on her own. For instance...her rocking horse, her reagular rocker, her outside chairs and her vibrating chair. I think all the climbing in and out of the pool at her party helped her realize how to lift her leg to get on! All these things are happening all at once...I can't believe how fast they grow!!!

We had such a blast celebrating Kylee's birthday with everyone yesterday. Thank you to everyone for coming and sharing this special day with us!! Yesterday we joined the crew at MawMaw's to celebrate Maddison's birthday with a little Dora action. We also did a little something for Joe and Kylee for those that did or will miss their birthdays. It was a fun filled day of good food and lots of swimming. My friend Monique and her husband Shelby were able to come over with their little girl Gracie. It was great catching up. Thank you Aunt Holly for Kylee's seahorse, she seemed to fall in love with it immediately! Thank you MawMaw for hosting, once again.

Thursday was our 4 year anniversary so we went out to celebrate last night. Thank you Gammy so much for watching Kylee so we could have a date night to ourselves! Kyle suprised me with a white table cloth dinner at Ruth's Chris Steak House. Then we enjoyed a beer at a new local bar and caught a movie afterwards. To you Kyle:

Today was Kylee's frist time in a swimming pool. It took her a little while to warm up to it (literally) but she eventually got used to the idea. She already loves bath time so I figured this would be a field day for her. Because her pool has a canopy the water was a little cool so it took her a while to get comfortable. Last weekend was a great weekend to celebrate Mother's Day! Saturday we split the day between my work (I was on call), Val and Shane's, and Kirk and Angie's. It was a busy day but well worth the travel. After I worked a few hours we headed to Val and Shane's to celebrate with Kyle's mom. We enjoyed some yummy food and great company and then headed out to Kirk and Angie's where we celebrated with Mom and Dad. Kirk cooked some delicious BBQ and we enjoyed some great outdoor time. Thank you so much to everyone for hosting! Sunday I had an awesome Mother's Day of relaxation. Kylee got me half a dozen pink roses and Kyle cooked lunch and supper and was sure that I didn't have to do anything all day...except a little work from my job of course. It was the best first Mother's Day I could ever ask for...thank you Kyle and Kylee for all the love you give me!

We've been having issues with buddy using the bathroom in his crate when we leave him so we've decided to leave him outside while we're gone from now on. We needed a shelter for him to get out of the weather and we racked our brains on the cheapest solution. Well, this is it! Kyle spent $4 on this doghouse using scrap wood,spray paing, and a Rubbermaid container! Isn't he great?!

While on our way to see MawMaw and PawPaw Friday we stopped by Gammy's and picked up Kylee's Easter presents from Nanny and Aunt Michelle. Thank you both so much, we all love them! Kylee had been playing with her new chair all weekend and wore her dress to church this morning. Before leaving for church we were sure to get a picture with her new set of ears! After church we joined the crowd in downtown Lafayette and checked out Festival Internationale. We all had a great time and can't wait to go again next year!

First Day of Daycare

Yesterday was Kylee's first day at daycare. It was such a heartbreaking day...at least for me!! She woke up happy as can be, screamed and cried when I dropped her off, and was reluctant to come to me when I picked her up! Go figure, she was adjusted within one day. Today she didn't even cry when I dropped her off. That broke my hear too! LOL. I want her to be happy but I also want her to want her Mommy! :) So far we are very satisfied with the daycare and I think Kylee is too. I hope it continues to go well and I am so glad Kylee has a safe place to stay.

This weekend has been a busy one. We managed to fit in 2 birthday parties and a carnival. Kylee had her share of playing outside, that's for sure! To start it off we went to Max's birthday party Saturday morning, headed to the carnival at Carly and Chloe's school in Church Point, and then today we went to Ethan's birthday party. To add to all of that we also completely cleaned out Kylee's room and reorganized. Whew! We are now officially pooped!!!

Kyle's mom took off of work this week to help us out after our babysitting crisis and watch Kylee until we could figure things out. Yesterday we ended the week with boiled crawfish..YUM! We are SO thankful for this Gammy! It was a great week and I know Kylee enjoyed her time with you. Kylee will now be in a small daycare just down the road from our house. I think she'll really enjoy it there. :(

Last week we had a photo session with Aunt Missy for Kylee's 9 month pictures and her Easter shots. The weather was so beautiful and I was glad to get some good outside shots. Last night we all made a trip to Moss Bluff to visit the newest addition to Mike and Natasha's family, Teagan. He is absolutely adorable and will definately never be mistaken for being in the wrong family!! Yesterday after our St. Patty's Day party Kylee and I headed to the hospital to have a scheduled EEG test done to make sure she is not having any seizures. Good news...everything is normal! During the test they glued electrodes all over her head. I didn't get a chance to get a picture of the electrodes but I did get a shot of her hair after the electrodes were pulled off!

Today Kylee's hair was wild...I'm assuming it's because of the glue from yesterday...so I decided to attempt a pony tail to keep it out of her face. We managed to get half of a pony tail and it did the trick of keeping it out of her face!

A New Beginning

I have accepted a job position with a Home Health Agency and will now be working during the week. It is a bitter sweet decision for me because I get my weekends back and get to spend more time with Kyle and Kylee together but I also have to leave my baby ;( I found a couple of people who will come to the house to watch her and who will also do light housekeeping for a decent price, so I am excited about that! I just hope I made the right decision and everything goes well. I will see more family now and I am really excited about that! Can't wait to see everyone for Easter!!!!

Orlando Getaway

This weekend Kyle and I made a business trip to Orlando (Disney World Resort Grounds) and decided to make it a mini vacation while we were at it. Thank you Gammy, MawMaw and PawPaw for taking care of Kylee for us so that we could have a little break! Although we were not able to enjoy any of the theme parks we enjoyed a relaxing few days in Downtown Disney and visiting the Boardwalk. It was nice to take a break from the chaos of life.

Friday night we got together with the Moms and Dads from our playgroup and had a family bowling night at a bowling alley just down the road. It had been so long since Kyle and I had gone bowling and we had a blast! It was so great to finally get to do something together as a family.

It was funny watching her try to get the one on her arm off because she wanted to use that same hand instead of using the opposite one! It didn't stop her from crawling and playing though.

I decided to try Kylee with the sippy cup yesterday. At first she was not fond of it. I'm using the cups with the soft nipples and I don't think she liked the shape of them. After I put some formula in it and laid her down as if she was taking a bottle she took to it and has not had a problem since. I didn't plan on taking her completely off the bottle but if she's okay with it so am I! I just hope she does this well when it's time to wean her off the pacifier!

Yes, it's the name of a restaurant! Saturday night after I got off of work Kyle, Kylee and I joined Val, Shane, and the girls for a little barbeque and a lot of fun! There's a new restaurant here in Scott that we decided to give a try. It has a bar, a live band, and is kid friendly! Who knew that existed? LOL. We had a great time and are glad we got to spend some quality time with family!

I got to watch the second half of the Saints game at home last night and boy was I glad! I managed to tune into most of the first half at work but there's nothing like being on your own couch enjoying the game! We are super pumped that the Saints are in the Superbowl and can't wait until February 6th!

Today Kylee and I joined our playgroup in scoping out JumpZone. It's a new place in Lafayette that is basically one big room filled with inflatable slides and bouncies. There's a toddler area in the back that had a few toys and some inflatable walk throughs. There wasn't all that much for Kylee but we enjoyed ourselves anyways! We did go bounce in one of the bounce houses together and boy was that fun!!

Lately we have been noticing that one of Kylee's bottom teeth seemed to be coming in, but we couldn't feel it yet. Well, tonight while I was bathing her I decided to check since she was in such a good mood and what do you know...I can feel the tip! She is, so far, a good teether! Today Kylee and I had a full day of fun with friends! This morning we headed to Barnes and Noble for a few short stories and from there we headed to a local park and had a picnic with everyone. It was Kylee's first trip to the park and I was excited to see how she would like it. She absolutely loved the swings and being outside! I can't wait until we can make a trip to the park with Daddy!
