Pumpkin Pose

Here's a cute picture we managed to get of Kylee with our pumpkin we're going to carve. It took a few tries to get her to sit up long enough!

Birthday Fun

Saturday the gang went to Mom and Dad's for a little birthday fun. I managed to get off of work early and join in on Chandler's birthday party. Wow, he's 10 years old already! I remember him as a little baby obsessed with rollie pollies and any other bug he could find. I guess some things never change, huh? HaHa. We had a great time visiting with everyone that was there and I am so glad I was able to make it.

Smoky Mountain Getaway

Our trip to the Smoky Mountains was one of the best vacations I've ever taken. We had such a great time as a family and Kylee was an amazing traveler! She did not fuss unless she was hungry or needed a diaper change; which I guess I can't blame her! We stayed in a 1 bedroom log cabin with a loft up top. The loft had the jaccuzi tub, king size bed, pool table, air hockey table,a full bath, and an unbelievable view of the mountains. Downstairs was another bedroom with a full bath, washer and dryer, living room, dining room, and kitchen. Both floors had a deck with a view of the mountains and the bottom deck hosued the hottub...one of my favorite aspects of the trip! Kyle and I were able to enjoy the hottub both nights while Kylee slept-what a great child!

We did a couple of local attractions but we also did a lot of driving and hiking the wilderness. I wanted to see a waterfall and we found out that in order to do so we had to hike 2.7 miles up a mountain. It was unexpected, and rough, but well worth it! Kylee also enjoyed herself.

On the way back we drove "The Dragon's Tail" which is an 11 mile stretch of highway with something like 129 curves. It was neat to see all the motorcycles and sports cars zooming by on those curves! We stopped in Alabama to sleep Thursday night and ended up visiting another National Forrest with views of The Little River Canyon. All in all, the trip was a blast and it allowed for some much needed family time. Thank you Kyle for my suprise birthday present to the Smoky Mountains!

This is Kylee after a 12 hour trip in a carseat. Are we lucky or what?!

See Ya Friday!!!

I just got news from Kyle that he's taking us on a family vacation to the Smokey Mountains as a suprise for my birthday! I've been checking out this area for some time now and from what I can tell it is beautiful so I am so pumped to be going!! We'll be back sometime Friday so I'll either be posting pictures of Kylee's first vacation then or next week-depending on how late it is when we get back. I'm signing off until then!

Experimenting With the Food Groups

It's moving on time! Kylee is officially on baby food now. Man, they grow so fast! We're starting with vegetables and then moving to fruits. So far we've gotten squash in and she seemed to like it...although she did break out with a rash on the back of her neck and on her head that I can't tell if it's from the squash or not. We'll have to try it again another time to find out. Anyway, this week we're doing sweet potatoes and real instant mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes she didn't care for much as you can tell in the picture. Our baby girl is forever getting older and smarter and cuter!

MMMM....SQUASH!

YUCK!!!! BLAND POTATOES!!!!

Chilli Weekend!

Seems like the weather gets chilly and the meals turn to Chilli!!! I've been wanting to cook a Chilli in my crockpot so I figured this weekend would be the perfect time so Friday I gathered up the ingredients and got to it! It was my first time ever cooking a chilli and, if I say so myself, I think it was pretty good! Well, apparently I wasn't the only one cooking chilli. Kyle made a trip to Church Point to visit Valarie, Shane, Carly and Chloe and to have a taste of Valarie's chilli. Wait, that's not all! I talked to Missy over the phone Saturday and she happened to be cooking chilli also! All I can say is I hope the others were as good as mine!! HaHa.

Silly Girl!

Kyle always likes blowing in Kylee's face to see her reaction. She never seems to mind but she does make funny noises!

Family, Family, and More Family

I am having a blast getting to see all this family lately! Tuesday Kirk and Angie invited us over for dinner and Mom and Dad joined. We had some amazing homemade lasagna and cheese cake to follow!! Nick got to see Kylee for the first time. Thanks so much for the great food and entertainment Kirk and Angie! Wednesday we headed to Lake Charles to visit Kyle's Padan and Aunt Michelle and Kylee's Nanny Jamie. They fed us some delicious spaghetti and shrimp chowder. Yummy!! Kylee managed to settle down long enough for Nanny and Aunt Michelle to hold her for a few minutes. She is going through a rough stage where she only wants Mommy and Daddy. After leaving there we visited Kyle's Mom -who got a taste of Kylee's temper- and headed back home. We had a blast visiting and can't wait to see everyone again!

Travel Time

Friday we made a trip to Baton Rouge to visit Robin, Wade, and the kids. While we were heading that way we all decided to pack up and hit the road to check out Shane and Courtney's new house and wow, what a beauty! It was so nice to see everyone again. I almost forgot what they all looked like! Kylee finally got to see her Parren Shane again and we all got to enjoy a nice supper at Acme. Tomorrow night we're heading to Kirk and Angie's for supper and we can't wait for some more good cooking and good company!

Boppy Land

Now that Kylee's older we've set the boppies aside but I pulled them out again to try and help her sit up. We've still got a lot of work to do but she looked like she was enjoying herself trying!

She's holding on to her toys really well now

Almost Time to Baby Proof

We've been noticing that Kylee starts out on one end of her bed at night and ends up on the other, but we've never seen it in action. Today I had laid her on her back under her play gym and went to the kitchen to do dishes. When I checked on her she had flipped to her stomach- which she has been doing a lot of also- and was in a totally different spot. So I put some toys in front of her and stood back to watch what she would do. This is what I saw. Looks like it won't be long before we start baby proofing!

Last week we took family photos. Here's all the poses we ended up ordering. They're scanned, so of course they don't look as good as the originals. I am printing extras out on my computer but they're not the best because I scanned them in, but I can order extras for anyone if they want. Right now, of the originals, I have small pics of Kylee on her belly for everyone besides godparents. Here's my precious girl!

Two Baby Girls

Our neighbor came to visit us the other night with her 6 week old little girl, Kate. She is so adorable and I can't wait for them to get old enough to play together!

Breast Cancer Benefit

Saturday Kyle's family put on a breast cancer benefit for his cousin who was just diagnosed a few months back. They raised $10,000...how great is that! Here's some pics of the event.
