Smoky Mountain Getaway

Our trip to the Smoky Mountains was one of the best vacations I've ever taken. We had such a great time as a family and Kylee was an amazing traveler! She did not fuss unless she was hungry or needed a diaper change; which I guess I can't blame her! We stayed in a 1 bedroom log cabin with a loft up top. The loft had the jaccuzi tub, king size bed, pool table, air hockey table,a full bath, and an unbelievable view of the mountains. Downstairs was another bedroom with a full bath, washer and dryer, living room, dining room, and kitchen. Both floors had a deck with a view of the mountains and the bottom deck hosued the hottub...one of my favorite aspects of the trip! Kyle and I were able to enjoy the hottub both nights while Kylee slept-what a great child!

We did a couple of local attractions but we also did a lot of driving and hiking the wilderness. I wanted to see a waterfall and we found out that in order to do so we had to hike 2.7 miles up a mountain. It was unexpected, and rough, but well worth it! Kylee also enjoyed herself.

On the way back we drove "The Dragon's Tail" which is an 11 mile stretch of highway with something like 129 curves. It was neat to see all the motorcycles and sports cars zooming by on those curves! We stopped in Alabama to sleep Thursday night and ended up visiting another National Forrest with views of The Little River Canyon. All in all, the trip was a blast and it allowed for some much needed family time. Thank you Kyle for my suprise birthday present to the Smoky Mountains!

This is Kylee after a 12 hour trip in a carseat. Are we lucky or what?!
